Smithy Bridge Court is a newly built nursing care home, which opened in 2021. It provides high-quality care for up to 51 working-aged and older adults with mental health and complex care needs, including complex behaviours which may be triggered by stress or distress.
Our home
Smithy Bridge Court is in the town of Littleborough in the foothills of the South Pennines, close to Rochdale and just a short drive from Manchester and the beautiful Hollingworth Lake. There are excellent public transport links with two train stations within easy reach and good connections to the motorway.
Our home has been specially designed to meet the needs of people with a variety of complex care needs. These may include dementia, mental health, neurological disorders, complex behaviours and physical/sensory disabilities.

A friendly feel
Our purpose-built home has a welcoming and friendly feel with homely communal areas and spacious fully-furnished bedrooms. Spread over four floors, there is lift access for those with impaired mobility, and each level has accessibility with spaces for quiet reflection, activities and events.
The design of our lounges has made the most of the stunning views, with floor to ceiling windows that allow uninterrupted views of the surrounding countryside. Each lounge has a kitchen to encourage and empower our ladies and gentlemen to make themselves refreshments and snacks, helping to maintain their independent skills.
Our 51 bedrooms all have en-suite wet rooms that can be adapted with equipment to meet a person’s individual needs. Each floor also has an accessible, fully equipped, assisted bathroom. Those who stay or reside at Smithy Bridge Court can personalise their room with their own furniture and belongings to make it feel like home.
